It is funny how a person can be in our circle of influence and yet we have not met. Kind of like two planes that fly over and past one another is the analogy. I knew Christa Santos before I met her through StarterStudio (previously Canvs) a startup accelerator program. As a marketing consultant, she helped with promotions and launch marketing for the organization. I actually met her in person a year later. 
In this episode, I learned even more about her. We talked about the future of the marketing industry and then moved to how Elon Musk is working on a product called neuralink which is a brain-chip implant startup to help individuals suffering from paralysis restore autonomy in their lives.
Wondering what her mentoring advice was,  “Teach someone how to do your job, you want to create your successors. We have to give back, that makes your community better.”

I met Pam McGee at an ATD conference last year and was amazed at her confidence, and depth of knowledge in HR. I knew she was someone that should be a guest on The Intern Whisperer. A little about her background, she served in the Air Force and joined when she was 17 years old and served for 6 years.  Impressive, right?
She led the conversation with Lead without influence. Those are three powerful words. Think about that for a minute and how to do that in your life. Pam is a go-getter and after leaving the Air Force, went to school and worked full time while being a young mom.  From there her career journey included working for big companies such as Home Depot for 8 years, Ross Stores, and then moving to Valencia College. She holds SHRM certifications in (PHR)/SHRM-CP.

Kamaria Scott - A People Leader Crafting Ideal Strategies for the Future of Work
 
I met Kamaria Scott at The Good Network - which stands for Greater Orlando Organizational
Development Network which is an organizational development [OD] professional association.
OD is a science-backed effort focusing on the study and implementation of practices, systems, and techniques that affect organizational change. The goal is to modify a group's/organization's performance and/or culture for best outcomes for the organization and its people.
 
In this episode, you will learn more about how Kamaria chose this career path through blended degrees in IO psychology and Human Resource Development. She shared how her educational degrees helped her develop a curious and problem-solving mindset that taught her ‘What to think about humans’ and ‘How to build learning.’  Kamaria’s example: “You either want people to start doing something they are not doing or stop doing something you don’t want them to do.”

Carol Ann Dykes Logue is a treasure in the Central Florida technology, STEM and STEAM communities. Carol Ann is the Director of Programs & Operations at UCF Innovation Districts & Incubation Program. Today’s guest Cherrise Wilks, selected a career path that was influenced by serving others. One of her key words she selected to describe herself was strategist.
